Last night, the London Critics Circle held its annual film awards ceremony, and decided upon a popular pick for their prestigious Film of the Year prize. Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog won yet another top award, taking four LCC trophies in all, including for actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Kodi Smit-McPhee. With Cumberbatch winning Best Actor, Best British/Irish Actor went instead to Andrew Garfield for three of the worst performances of this year or any other: The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Mainstream and tick, tick...BOOM! There's hope for us all! You can remind yourself of the London critics' Film Awards nominations here.
