1917 surprises to win top Golden Globes

George MacKay in 1917

At several points during the 77th Golden Globes telecast, it appeared that so many of our hopes for so many of our favourite Oscar candidates were being dashed. The HFPA was, as they famously often do, making some pretty shite choices, and the Oscar race looked like it was taking a very dismal turn. But then Sandra Bullock came out on stage to reveal that 1917 won Best Picture - Drama, and we all realized that it was just the HFPA back on their usual bullshit, and none of this means a damn thing anyway.

The telecast wasn't even fun.
