One of the biggest question marks for Oscar watchers this year has been Adam McKay's Vice, the writer-director's follow-up to his surprise 2015 Oscar hit The Big Short. It's opting for a year-end release - 14th of December in the US, expanding through the rest of the world mostly in early 2019 - and skipping a festival berth altogether, and has only unveiled its first trailer just now. And here it is! Looks as gross and slick and yucky as I hoped it would, though I can't help but wonder if this won't be fodder for conservative audiences as much as it is for those of us with more synapses firing...
