First look at Ari Aster's follow-up to his debut feature, last year's acclaimed and profitable horror Hereditary. He's sticking with the genre, though inverting the aesthetic alongside cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski, switching from terrifying night to terrifying day in Midsommar. The Sweden-set folk horror starring Florence Pugh and Will Poulter is being given a hefty early marketing push from distributors A24, who also released Hereditary before giving it zero awards push. We'll have to wait until August at the earliest to see this (the 9th Stateside, the 16th in the UK), though buzz is that it'll make a Cannes appearance in May.
