I have nothing but respect for Steven Soderbergh, auteur among American auteurs releasing his movies in the dog days of winter so that Oscar can't ever get their filthy hands on them ever again. Even with top talent on board, Soderbergh's comeback movies have pretty much all been brazenly uncommercial, closer in style, tone and purpose to his experimental pictures of the '90s and early '00s. High Flying Bird, his collaboration with Moonlight scribe Tarell Alvin McCraney, premieres on Netflix on the 8th of February. Now, I've no fucking clue what's going on in the trailer above, but I certainly do have a clue that I'm interested.
