Trailer #2: High Life

Getting picked up for U.S. distribution by A24 was precisely the best thing to happen to Claire Denis' High Life (even if, judging by their policy this year, it means its Oscar chances are nil, if it ever even had any!). It opens the movie up to a whole new audience for Denis, one liable to respond very well to its experimental sci-fi attributes, without sacrificing any part of Denis' identity as one of modern cinema's leading auteurs. This is our second look at the movie - after the French trailer late last year - which will open in the U.S. on the 12th of April. Still wish Agnes Godard was involved, but Yorick le Saux looks to have done an excellent job, and Olafur Eliasson's work appears to be on full, fabulous display.
