The Rider Surprises To Win Gotham Best Feature Award

If The Rider doesn't necessarily seem like an obvious choice for an awards body to name their Best Picture of the year, it's at least obviously a good choice. Chloe Zhao's beautiful feature took home Best Feature at the Gotham Awards last night in New York City, despite winning no other awards from the jury. They also handed out trophies to potential Oscar contenders Toni Collette for Hereditary and Ethan Hawke for First Reformed in the acting categories, marking an auspicious start to awards season for the pair, and for distributor A24.
