These were announced yesterday, but time zones are a bitch and no I was not awake. Another sizeable victory for Jane Campion's The Power of the Dog as it triumphs in eight categories in the 2021 Columbus Film Critics Association awards, ranking runner-up in three further categories, and only failing to crack the top 2 for one of its 12 nominations. What little there is left to claim, then, is snatched up by Licorice Pizza, whose three successes here are all in categories where The Power of the Dog wasn't just not nominated, it wasn't even eligible. The Columbus critics felt that power all right!
