The Favourite and First Reformed Lead Gotham Nominations

I do love an awards body getting involved in honouring great cinema outside of the usual awards window. Each October, the Independent Film Project announces a slate of nominees for the Gotham Awards well in advance of the first groups kicking off awards season in late November / early December. This year, their choices include three mentions for two films apiece - Paul Schrader's First Reformed, and Yorgos Lanthimos' The Favourite, including a special prize for its trio of leads: Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. The awards themselves will be presented a ceremony in New York on the 26th of November. Check out the movie nominees in full below:
