The 2018 Critics Consensus Award Winners

It's old news, sure, but it's nothing if not a good sign for Roma that it was such a success among the critics this year. Five awards from seven nominations in the 2018 Critics Consensus Awards, with Alfonso Cuaron among the winners across all five (from his six nominations). In the 50th year of the CCAs, Cuaron thus makes a new record for the most wins for any individual in a single year, and also becomes the most-awarded individual over all 50 combined, bringing his total to nine. Oscar-snubbed Ethan Hawke wins Best Actor, though his fellow Oscar-snubbed Toni Collette loses Best Actress to Olivia Colman, despite her similar popularity among critics. The Favourite also fares well, winning four awards to Roma's five. Check out the 2018 CCA nominations here, and the award winners below, and let's hope tonight's Oscars turn out somewhere near this good!
