The 2016 Critics Consensus Award Winners

A number of the 2016 CCA category races were fairly close, but not Best Picture. Moonlight comfortably won that alongside five other awards - a very impressive amount that ranks joint second in the history of these awards to date. Among the close races were some of its haul, such as Cinematography and Editing, thus diminishing La La Land's performance; the two titles were neck-and-neck at nominations stage with nine each, but Moonlight triples La La Land's win count in the end. There's a second Best Actress win for Natalie Portman, and a Best Foreign Language Film victory for a non-Best Picture nominee (The Handmaiden) over a Best Picture nominee (Toni Erdmann) after Amour achieved the same over Holy Motors four years prior.
