Sunset Critics announce 2022 awards nominees

Ben Whishaw, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Women Talking, Sarah Polley
Ben Whishaw, Rooney Mara and Claire Foy in Women Talking

An unusually interesting line-up of nominees for the third annual Sunset Circle awards, with a great deal more variety than I'd expected from this crowd. Decision to Leave and Women Talking land the most nominations with six each, including Best Film and Best Director, while Oscar hopefuls like She Said and Tar knock heads with big budget hits like Elvis and Top Gun: Maverick. Winners will be announced on the 29th of November, cos these critics do prefer the spotlight all to themselves, so announcing in the middle of awards season alongside everyone else just is not going to happen, even if it means actually getting to watch all the year's movies...
