St. Louis Film Critics Association announces its 2020 award nominations

Missouri gets a lot of shit from a lot of people for a lot of reasons, but the St. Louis Film Critics Association really shouldn't be one of them. They've just announced the nominations for their 2020 awards, with Emerald Fennell's bold debut feature Promising Young Woman at the front of the pack with eight nods. It's matched by David Fincher's biopic Mank on the numerical total, though not in the top category appearances, once again missing in Best Film and Best Director. Elsewhere, the SLFCA shows a little love for Hamilton, gets behind a beleaguered Vanessa Kirby in Best Actress, and offers up a startlingly white Supporting Actor lineup for the current season. Winners are due on the 17th of January.
