A corrective to those who felt Sound of Metal was robbed of MPSE awards not 24 hours ago, the Cinema Audio Society has declared its choices for its 2020/21 awards. The drama, which went to great technical lengths to create its unique sonic design, is voters' pick for the best live action sound mixing of the year, while Soul wins the award for animations and The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart triumphs in the documentary category. This likely puts Sound of Metal on track to win next week's Best Sound Oscar in a walk. Check out the 2020/21 CAS award nominations right here.
