In case you thought 2021 was ever about to spring back to normality and restore some kind of supposed happiness to the world, along comes the Screen Actors Guild. Their TV nominees (not covered here) may have corrected some of the major mistakes made by the Golden Globe voters yesterday, but their film nominees are, if anything, worse. Alongside alarming snubs (again) for Ellen Burstyn and - christ why - Delroy Lindo, there are nominations for Amy Adams and - oh fuck not again - Jared Leto. Jared Leto! Jared fucking Leto? Who? Why? Since when was Jared Leto in this race? Has the awards race just... given up trying? Winners will be announced exactly two months today, on the 4th of April, if we're all still alive god forbid...
