The Nevada Film Critics Society has gotten way out of the desert and lauded one Brit after another in their 2020/21 awards. Not only does England's own Emerald Fennell win Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for her Best Picture-winning Promising Young Woman but four of the five acting award recipients (due to a tie) are British. Only rising Oscar favourite Glenn Close (though you've heard that before...) doesn't hail from the isle of Great Britain. Those four wins for Promising Young Woman certainly won't hurt its chances as awards season rolls ever on toward Oscar nominations.
