Phoenix Critics Circle announces 2020/21 awards nominations

Not to be confused with the Phoenix Film Critics Society, the Phoenix Critics Circle has today announced the nominees for its awards for the 2020/21 film season. An expanded Best Picture lineup makes room for a surprise appearance by First Cow, which is otherwise entirely absent from the PCC's choices. That makes twice as many Best Picture nominees directed by women as those directed by men - a very pleasing stat indeed. Winners will be announced on the 18th of March.
