Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War Is The European Film Of The Year

Polish title Cold War, from acclaimed Polish-British filmmaker Pawel Pawlikowski, won top honours at tonight's European Film Awards, picking up four trophies to add to the tech prize it won from the EFA jury last month for Best Editor. Among its awards tonight were Best Picture, Director, and Actress for Joanna Kulig. The night also saw a controversial win from the FIPRESCI jury - the international critics federation gave its prestigious honour to Lukas Dhont's Girl, whose insensitive narrative and casting choices have provoked uproar from the trans community and its allies.
