Around this team most awards seasons, a consensus critical favourite begins to emerge. And so it is this year as Jane Campion's hit return to filmmaking, The Power of the Dog, further consolidates its status as the dominant movie across the board with critics' groups, today winning six awards from the New York Film Critics Online including Best Picture and Director. Rebecca Hall's Passing wins two, including acting prizes for leads Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga, and West Side Story wins for Ariana DeBose and for its iconic soundtrack.
