Marriage Story wins Dublin Film Critics Circle Best Film award

Scarlett Johansson in Marriage Story

Not to be outdone by the London critics, the Dublin critics have announced their 2019 award poll results, with Noah Baumbach's Marriage Story coming out on top. The Dublin Film Critics Circle gives the movie not only its Best Film prize but those for Screenplay and both Actress (Scarlett Johansson) and Actor (Adam Driver). Those are consolidated awards - Original and Adapted in one, Leading and Supporting performances in one (by gender) - and thus even more impressive wins for the movie.

If you're wondering what a few 2018 titles are doing on this list, the DFCC is pretty strict about release dates, and pretty good about remembering movies from early in the year. So titles such as The Favourite and If Beale Street Could Talk weren't eligible last year, but are this year.
