Ma Rainey's Black Bottom wins 7 CIFCC awards

2021 has arrived, and with the new year's celebrations out of the way, the critics awards resume! First out of the gate is the Chicago Independent Film Critics Circle, who announced their award nominees a week ago. Over two separate Best Film categories, there were three winners: Oscar frontrunner Nomadland and a pair of clear favourites among CIFCC members, Da 5 Bloods and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, both of which picked up awards for star Chadwick Boseman.
