Licorice Pizza is NBR's Best Film of 2021

The traditional grand opening of awards season is upon us, seemingly only barely after the grand closing of the last one. But no signs of awards fatigue here, as the National Board of Review's picks for the best achievements in film this year are more than satisfactory! Paul Thomas Anderson's Licorice Pizza is the NBR's top film of 2021, also winning prizes for Director and Breakthrough Performance for its two leads. Elsewhere, there's love for Joel Coen's solo directorial debut, The Tragedy of Macbeth, and Steven Spielberg's long-awaited musical remake, West Side Story.
