The Kansas City Film Critics Circle is one of the oldest critics' groups in the U.S., and today made their picks for the greatest cinematic achievements of the year for the 54th time. It's a mildly idiosyncratic selection here, with Sam Mendes' WWI movie 1917 taking top honours, and a few piquant little surprises sprinkled through, such as Da'Vine Joy Randolph in Best Supporting Actress, and Amazing Grace in Documentary.
