Indiana Film Journalists Love The Hate U Give

Reviews for The Hate U Give may have been strong, but George Tillman Jr.'s movie has rather fallen out of favour with critics in their year-end awards. So it's with considerable pleasure that I note another critics' group - the Indiana Film Journalists Association - picking it as their best film of 2018, also winning for its screenplay and, in a season first, for its lead Amandla Stenberg. It's an idiosyncratic list on the whole (double Radiohead in the Musical Score category!) but not a bad one by any means, so check it out:
