Happening wins 2021 ICS Best Picture prize

The International Cinephile Society has today announced the winners and runners-up for its 2021 awards, and it's one of the year's top festival champs at the top of their own picks. Audrey Diwan's Happening takes two awards from the ICS: Best Picture, and Best Breakthrough Performance for lead Anamaria Vartolomei. She places as the runner-up in the Best Actress category, as Diwan does in Best Director, with the movie claiming four second place finishes in total. The Director prize instead goes to The Power of the Dog's Jane Campion, which ranks fifth in Best Picture, though that's its only award. The most-awarded title of the day is perhaps a minor surprise: Terence Davies' Benediction, which is third in Best Picture behind Happening and Drive My Car, winning the Best Actor award for Jack Lowden among its haul. Check out the 2021 ICS awards nominees here, and all the winners below.
