In a lovely show of support for a vast array of filmmakers, the Independent Film Project has found more awards for the films of 2020 than we thought they even had. Alongside the previously announced recipient of their Ensemble Award, The Trial of the Chicago 7, voters engineered two ties across eight further categories to bring the total number of winners to 11, all of which were different titles. The top award of the year, however, went to a rather less unexpected candidate, though far from an unworthy one: Chloe Zhao's Nomadland. Check out the Gotham Award nominations here.
