Ford v Ferrari doubles up on sound guild wins at Cinema Audio Society awards

I'm a long way from ever being considered Ford v Ferrari's biggest fan, but I'll give credit where it's due, and it's due here. The car racing drama deservedly took home the Cinema Audio Society's prize for the best sound mixing in a live action movie last year, beating presumed frontrunner 1917. And, as a Parasite fan, I'll take all the losses that movie can get, should it help my favourite's Oscar hopes!

Anyway, the CAS is, after all, a guild of sound mixers, while the Oscars will be decided upon by several thousand industry members from across a wide spectrum of professions, so I'm holding out for now on declaring Ford v Ferrari the frontrunner for either sound Oscar. Its win here, however, does make it two-for-two on sound guilds, having also won the Motion Picture Sound Editors' top award earlier this month.
