Getting a jumpstart on awards season as ever, the Critics Choice Documentary Awards nominations for 2022 have been announced... over a week ago, but alas was this news top of anyone's agenda? The short of it is that Sara Dosa's Fire of Love leads all nominated productions with seven nods, and marks itself out as a strong candidate to lead the field in the coming season among docs. But there are several nominations apiece for other popular titles, including Good Night Oppy, The Janes, Moonage Daydream, and Navalny. Of course, this is the Critics Choice Association, so who really cares about their opinion - the nods for All the Beauty and the Bloodshed and Cow suggest they have seen those movies, they just didn't think they were achievements on quite the same level as The Automat and Gabby Giffords Won't Back Down... Winners will be announced on the 13th of November.
