EEAAO and Tar tie for Best Picture in 2022 Los Angeles Film Critics Association awards
Updated: Dec 13, 2022

The members of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association couldn't pick just one movie as their favourite of the year, instead handing their top award for 2022 to a pair of serious critical darlings. Todd Field's Tar is one of them, winning three other big awards here as well, and making it 2/3 of the major American critics' awards' top prize winners, after also winning Best Picture from the New York critics. LAFCA's other pick is perhaps somewhat more surprising: Daniels' Everything Everywhere All at Once, a bit less dominant in the other categories here, but obviously no less popular among voters. This is also LAFCA's first year with gender neutral acting categores, a terrific decision from this group. It almost makes up for the RRR love...
