Costume Designers Guild announces 2020/21 award winners
No surprises at all in last night's Costume Designers Guild awards as all three frontrunners went home with prizes. The CDG opted for Oscar frontrunner and costume design legend Ann Roth for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom in their Period Film category, fellow Oscar nominee Mulan for Sci-Fi/Fantasy, and Promising Young Woman for Contemporary. If not a particularly inspired batch of award winners, it's still a deserving bunch, though my eyes still haven't fully rolled back after Mulan designer Bina Daigeler's museum quote.
