For those lamentably few fans of serious cinema, today's Writers Guild of America award nominations weren't exactly being anticipated with much excitement. That said, a seriously depleted list of eligible Best Adapted Screenplay candidates had hopes high for such critical hits as First Cow and I'm Thinking of Ending Things.
