Belfast wins Best Film award from Washington DC Area critics

From one side of the Atlantic to the other: Kenneth Branagh's semi-autobiographical drama Belfast takes top honours from the Washington DC Area Film Critics Association in their 2021 awards. It led the nominations, announced a couple days ago, yet doesn't lead the awards: Dune, not up for Best Film here, and The Power of the Dog both take three prizes to Belfast's two. The Power of the Dog's Jane Campion continues consolidating her status as the Oscar Best Director frontrunner with a win in that category from the WAFCA. All the details below.
