Belfast, The Power of the Dog lead Golden Globe awards nominations

Belfast and The Power of the Dog are the big winners at the Golden Globes this year, at least for now. Both titles earned seven nominations from the HFPA, which announced its 2021 nominees just moments ago, topping all movies in this year's selection. Voters also got behind Don't Look Up, bucking the trend set by their less enthusiastic journalist colleagues in other critics' groups, and threw a few surprise nominations Maggie Gyllenhaal's way and Marion Cotillard's - her Annette co-star Adam Driver surprisingly shut out. Less surprising are mentions for Ben Affleck in Supporting Actor for The Tender Bar, not The Last Duel and Mahershala Ali in Leading Actor, Drama for Swan Song, though I doubt anyone saw My Sunny Maad's Animated Film nomination coming, least of all over movies like Belle and The Mitchells vs the Machines. The Golden Globes are currently set for the 9th of January, that is if all the nominees don't decline their nominations altogether...
