The Hollywood Critics Association may reside in the cinema capital of the world, but that's not to say they know a lot about cinema. Move over BFCA, there's a new bunch of Golden Globe wannabes in SoCal! With the absurdly unnecessary gender separated Best Director categories, zeitgeisty nominations like Zendaya for Malcolm & Marie bumping up alongside Oscar-baity nominations like Glenn Close for Hillbilly Elegy, and a maximum of extraneous categories like Best Action and Best Blockbuster, this isn't exactly Cahiers du Cinema. They haven't even got a handle on correct alphabetical order. For some bizarre reason, the HCA will livestream their award winners on their Facebook and YouTube pages on the 5th of March, including all their absurdly numerous (and largely undeserving) honorary award recipients.
