2022 Hollywood Critics Association Creative Arts Awards nominees announced

The Hollywood Critics Association, still a relatively young critics' group to participate in awards season, has split its awards into two groups this year. One group, representing above-the-line categories, will have its nominations announced on the 15th of December, a week today, and its awards winners on the 24th of February. A week before that, it'll announce the winners of its Creative Arts Awards, and their nominations were announced today. Leading the pack with seven mentions each are Everything Everywhere All at Once and Top Gun: Maverick with an impressive haul of seven, closely followed by The Batman with six, and a healthy bunch of films with five: Avatar: The Way of Water, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Elvis. Some fine choices here, but I can't get past EEAAO in Cinematography (one of the ugliest movies of the year imo) and including a category for marketing campaigns alongside actual cinematic craft categories.
