Just when you thought the Oscar race was getting interesting... it isn't. The Directors Guild of America has announced the nominations for its 2022 awards, with a quintuplet of five major awards contenders all present and correct in the top category. No women, and only one POC; thankfully, the First Time category is a considerably healthier reflection of the best of cinema this year, but then we all know which one of those five will go on to have the biggest moviemaking career, don't we... Winners will be announced on 18 February. Read 'em and weep:
