2022 Cinema Audio Society Award winners announced

Tom Cruise, Top Gun: Maverick, Joseph Kosinski, Cinema Audio Society
Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick

As expected, Top Gun: Maverick has dominated the 2022/23 award season in the Sound categories, now winning another major prize for its audio design. It takes top honours for live action movies in the 2022 Cinema Audio Society awards, honouring sound mixing. It can add this to its big win last week in the Motion Picture Sound Editors' Golden Reel Awards to make 2/2 American industry awards for its sound. Next week, it's just the Oscar left to claim, and most smart bets are on Maverick. Also winning here in the Animated and Documentary categories respectively are Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and Moonage Daydream. Check out the nominees for these awards here, and the winners right below.

Outstanding Sound Mixing - Live Action

Top Gun: Maverick (Chris Burdon, Al Clay, Blake Collins, Stephen Lipson, Mark Taylor and Mark Weingarten)

Outstanding Sound Mixing - Animated

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (Peter Cobbin, Tavish Grade, Frank A. Montano and Jon Taylor)

Outstanding Sound Mixing - Documentary
