2021 Costume Designers Guild award nominations: Spencer misses

Looks like the film industry doesn't like cinema! The Costume Designers Guild has announced the nominees for its 2021 awards, and there's one conspicuous omission. Jacqueline Durran's outstanding work in Spencer has been snubbed by the guild, standing it in line to experience a total shut-out of the established guilds; only the relative newcomer the Society of Composers and Lyricists has thus far recognized it. Not that the other CDG award nominees aren't deserving, and Durran does get a mention for her work on Cyrano, but this is a very disappointing decision that's been made across several industry voting bodies so far this season. Winners will be announced on the 9th of March.
