2020/21 Directors Guild of America award winners announced

Everyone saw it coming, but that doesn't change the significance of the result of the Directors Guild of America's 2020/21 awards. Nomadland's Chloe Zhao last night became only the second woman to win the top DGA prize, and the first woman of colour to do so. She'll almost certainly take tonight's BAFTA for Best Director, thus affording her a clean sweep of the major movie awards in this category and setting her on a very clear course to the Oscar two weeks from today. Check out the DGA nominations for the year right here.
