2020/21 Detroit Film Critics Society awards nominations announced
Nominations are out for the Detroit Film Critics Society's 2020/21 awards, and Lee Isaac Chung's Minari leads the way with six mentions. It's joined in Best Picture by Nomadland and The Trial of the Chicago 7, all three of which earn Best Director nominations also, and Sound of Metal and First Cow in a welcome return to the fold for the latter. Not the most radical slate of nominees overall, but not a particularly bad one either, and there are some notable mentions such as Christopher Abbott in Best Supporting Actor for Possessor, and Jasmine Batchelor in Best Breakthrough for The Surrogate. Winners will be announced on the 8th of March.
