Full details of all the Directors Guild of America's movie award nominees are now live! The DGA was widely expected to recognize Bong Joon Ho, Sam Mendes, Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino in its top category, but whom else? Noah Baumbach? Greta Gerwig? Todd Phillips? Alas, they went with Jojo Rabbit's Taika Waititi, unfortunately thereby ensuring that, once again, no women compete for their premier honour.

Elsewhere, women make up exactly half of all nominees, which would be more promising were there any evidence that support in Documentary or First-Time Feature led to similar support for female directors in the top slate.

The DGA awards will be held this year on the 25th of January.
