The 2018 Critics Consensus Award Nominations

Emma Stone in The Favourite

The Critics Consensus Awards have finally caught up to date! The 2018 edition sees The Favourite out in front, as it was with so many critics groups this season. As with this year's Oscars, it leads the pack with ten nominations - indeed, the same ten save for one category that each other group does not possess (Ensemble Cast / Costume Design). For the first time since 2006, there are two non-English language movies up for Best Picture: Lee Chang Dong's Burning and Alfonso Cuaron's Oscar fave Roma. But whereas the latter co-leads the Oscar nods alongside The Favourite, here it appears in three fewer, missing acting nominations altogether. Still, Alfonso Cuaron's six individual mentions tie him with George Clooney in 2005 for the most nominations for a single person in a single frame. Check out that Best Editing category, differing from the Academy's on four of five counts! Great calls by the critics this year include You Were Never Really Here in Director and Editing, Regina Hall in Actress, Leave No Trace in Adapted Screenplay, Suspiria in Music, and Widows in three categories! Check back later, prior to tonight's Oscars, for the winners' announcement, and check out all the 2018 nominees below:
