ASC Award Goes To Cold War

Just as it seemed Roma was set to sweep the Best Cinematography category all season, along comes Cold War to win the American Society of Cinematographers' top award. Amid rumours that the Academy plans to shuffle this category into the commercial breaks (five or six categories are scheduled to be shafted thus), this might be a sign that Alfonso Cuaron will pick up all of his prizes on the telecast - after all, Cold War was a hit with AMPAS voters, and could now qualify as less of a spoiler here than a viable alternative.
