The Power of the Dog wins 3 Kansas City Film Critics Circle awards

The Kansas City Film Critics Circle may not be one of the best known critics' groups in the U.S. but it is one of the oldest, with an estimable history of handing out annual awards stretching back over 60 years. So their choices aren't to be sniffed at! This year, they've picked The Power of the Dog as Best Picture, awarding the film's director, Jane Campion, and its leading actor, Benedict Cumberbatch. There's only enough love for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story to drive it to one win, though it ranks second in three categories including Best Picture, and no movie other than The Power of the Dog wins multiple prizes, so that's a solid second place finish.
