1917 is Denver Film Critics Society's 2019 favourite

Florence Pugh, Saoirse Ronan and Emma Watson in Little Women

I suppose the Denver Film Critics Society's 2019 award nominations were a good representation of what's inevitably going to occur when you throw together a mere few regional critics and ask them to nominate their favourite movies of the year. It was a baffling bunch, though their award winners make a bit more sense, even if too few of them match my favourites of the year. They give three awards to 1917 including Best Picture and Director, likely in response to its continuing rise up the rankings in the Oscar predictions of many pundits.
